Outreach Collection, 1967–2009
Scope and Content
The Outreach Collection includes paper records generated by the MLA’s various efforts to connect with and support members and the profession at large since 1884. These include materials generated by the annual convention, awards, communications, and marketing and sales. The materials comprise convention programs, brochures, invitations, and dinner menus; member responses to the convention; convention statistics; press releases; award announcements; speeches; correspondence within and without the MLA; and promotional items.

Conditions Governing Access
This collection is partially open for research. The brochures and programs and invitations subseries are fully open. The general conventions records subseries is open by request. The member issues subseries is permanently restricted. Material may be protected by Copyright Law (Title 17, United States Code). Reproduction is permitted at the discretion of the association.

Processing Information
Small portions of the collection were processed in conjunction with the NEH-funded grant to process the General Chronological Collection. The majority of the collection remains unprocessed.
